HELENA, Mont.-The Montana Department of Labor & Industry Workforce Services Division has been awarded a $225,000 National Dislocated Worker Grant from the US Department of Labor to assist affected workers impacted by the Weyerhaeuser lumber and plywood mill closures. This funding will be used to provide reemployment services to those impacted by the August 22, 2016 closures.
Dislocated workers will receive a comprehensive program of services through this funding including:
· Skills Assessment
· Case Management
· Work Readiness and Development Training
· Job Placement Education
This grant has been awarded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Actof 2014 specifically to address the needs of dislocated workers. The purpose of the grant is to temporarily allow for the expansion of workforce development training for unexpected workforce events.
