Montana Veterans Would Lose Benefits Under Gianforte’s Health Care Bill

More than 7 million veterans would be ineligible for health insurance tax credits under the so-called American Health Care Act that Greg Gianforte said he was “thankful” for, including nearly 100,000 veterans who call Montana home.

On top of that, the disastrous bill makes post-traumatic stress disorder a preexisting condition and yanks protections from the more than 420,000 Montanans who have preexisting conditions.

Instead of offering more choices to Montana’s veterans, the bill takes away tax credits for health insurance from veterans who qualify for VA benefits. That would reverse years of work trying to fix the VA and expand veterans’ access to quality health care.
