Brothers, Sisters, and Allies –
I can think of no better time than the Holidays to reiterate the welcoming and inclusive spirit of Montana’s labor movement. At a time when extreme divisiveness and unbridled hate and bigotry have gained a national platform from Missoula to Whitefish to Washington, D.C., let’s remind ourselves what we stand for.
All workers are equal. All workers are brothers and sisters in the same struggle for a better life.
All workers deserve a living wage and dignity in the work place.
All workers, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, or how long they’ve been in this country are welcome in our Labor Movement because we are stronger together.
We will not surrender to corporate America’s blatant attempts to divide us along superficial lines.
We will always stand up and speak up for the disenfranchised, the marginalized, and the forgotten.
May you have a very happy holiday season, brothers and sisters! The fight continues in 2017.
